When an application for a role is made, first the merits of the individual are assessed, their qualifications, their experience but also their desire to provide high quality care. Through personal contact with each applicant, we will either accept or reject the application at this initial screening.
An in-depth face to face interview with either the Director or Branch Manager is the next stage in the process. This gives the applicant the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and passion for care, and crucially a chance for us to assess if the individual is the right fit for Caring Hearts Scotland.
Joining the Protection of Vulnerable Group Scheme (PVG) with Disclosure Scotland.
Written references from a candidate’s previous two employers with a full employment history (with all gaps explained).
Verification of a candidate’s identity and a work permit status (if applicable).
Qualifications and training certificates i.e. a valid moving and handling certificate, and if not we book them in to complete this training.
Declaration of physical and mental fitness as well as immunisation status.
